Built For Charm

Designed for the living room.

01

Every Voice Tab Sampled

Each rocker-tab voice captured in isolation: the reedy flutes, the buzzing strings, and every combination you can flip together.

02

Vibrato, Both Ways

The built-in vibrato is part of this organ’s personality. Every voice is sampled with and without it, switchable just like on the original panel.

03

Honest Transistor Tone

No polishing, no de-noising into sterility. The slight hum, the key click, the character of 1960s circuitry, captured as it really sounds.

04

KONTAKT & Standalone

Available for Native Instruments KONTAKT and as a standalone app, with a custom GUI in the style of the original panel, in the same series design as the Historic Organ.

05

Consumer Electronics, Preserved

Mass-produced instruments die quietly: circuits drift, capacitors fail, units get scrapped. This library keeps one of them alive for good.

The Instrument

From Dutch living rooms. To the records.

The instrument behind this library is a Philips Philicorda: launched in the early 1960s as one of the first electronic organs built for the home, an instrument for the family, sold next to radios and record players. Slender steel legs, rocker tabs, and a tone somewhere between reed organ and space age.

What was designed as furniture became a cult sound: garage bands, lounge productions and indie records discovered its honest, slightly eccentric voice. Yet surviving units are fading: aging transistors, drifting circuits, and no factory left to repair them.

Built for living rooms. Remembered for records.
